Regina is a second-generation member of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) Philadelphia Heritage Branch. She has served as the President from 2011 to 2022. Her life-long study of African American History began in high school when she took part in a city-wide student protest demanding Black Studies be included in the school curriculum.<\/p>

After thirty-five years of classroom teaching and curriculum development, Regina retired from the School District of Philadelphia, in 2011. She received several awards for her research on the Underground Railroad and for documenting the lives of African Americans living in the Frankford section of colonial Philadelphia. In addition, Regina was a part of the team of Philadelphia School District teachers that developed the African American History Curriculum.<\/p>

As president of the ASALH-Philadelphia Heritage Branch for the past ten years, Regina has focused on the branch having a greater reach into the community. The Philadelphia Heritage branch seeks to intertwine the historic with current social history.<\/p>

She inherited the position of Family Historian from her late mother, Othella Ross Vaughn. Her family traces their lineage in the United States to Newberry and Edgefield Counties, SC. (1822) Regina\u2019s direct line, Glenn, migrated to Philadelphia in 1917, from Greenwood, SC.
Regina is the mother of a daughter, has a son-in-law, and a grandson. Regina is a member of the Vine Memorial Baptist Church, Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS)-Delaware Chapter. African American Genealogy Group (AAGG) Philadelphia, African American Genealogy Society (AAGS) Cleveland Ohio, Bucks County Genealogical Society Pennsylvania, Main Line Genealogy Club Pennsylvania, and the National Council of Negro Women Philadelphia Section.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDee Patterson, also known as Conductor Dee, is the CEO and Founder of UGR3DAY Underground Railroad Experiences Inc. She is also an acclaimed storyteller and conductor of the Underground Railroad experiences. A historian, Dee is also a nationally certified cultural interpretive guide, a certified genealogist, curriculum developer and education consultant.
